Types of Aerosol Valves By Use
Commonly used valves, also known as standard valves, are designed to inject upright in the conventional sense.
The 360 valves can be sprayed upside down or inverted, but it’s not a true 360-degree valve, in the strictest sense. when it is at an angle of a certain degree that it can spray propellant, but not liquid and gas simultaneously.
The Omnidirectional valve is a type of valve that sprays at any angle that is 360 degrees in the real sense. It can be upright, inverted, or horizontal. When the actuator is pressed, the dip tube path is opened to the outside; this creates a large pressure differential (inside the can → high pressure, ambient air → low pressure). The system wants to move to equilibrium, and so the product is forced through the dip tube and out the actuator, where the atomizer finely disperses the product into an aerosol spray. It is an elegant device, as the aerosol valve acts as a switch, a filling port, an atomizer, and a hermetic seal, all at once.
